I often repeat myself in this newsletter, and one of the points I emphasize is that all of our situations and challenges are unique, so our individual solutions will also be distinct. Not only do our daily lives look different, but we all have different strengths.
This week's challenge is straightforward on its surface but can be a little tricky to put into practice. Once you know your strengths, how do you use that knowledge in your life?
For example, "love of learning" is my top strength, so I lean into that by taking online courses, researching topics that interest me, and reading books that help to inspire this newsletter. I do my best to learn something new every single day. Another of my strengths is "humor," which may seem out of character if you only know me from my writing here, but it's a large part of my other newsletter. Some of my other strengths include creativity, curiosity, and an appreciation of beauty. Learning to value my strengths is one of the chief ways my life has improved over the last few years, and I hope it can do the same for you.
Challenge:
This week, I'd like you to make a list of your top strengths. I suggest using the online tool at the Via Character website, as making this list on your own may be challenging. (Though you have the option to purchase reports on that site, the strengths profile is free.) Once you have your list, brainstorm ways to use your strengths in daily life. As always, what works best for you will be unique.
